maximizing freedom, coding, startups and more

voena (2025 - present)

started working together with a colleague from university. we were both into voice ai, and he casually asked his dentist whether he would want a voice ai agent that could take appointments. he said yes, and he started working on it, and i joined after about 3 months.

i have been responsible for frontend, database, the synchronization engine, and legal & business things. we're about to launch with the first client. check it out

artha labs (2024 - present)

after having gone to 42 (a coding school) for about a year, i decided i had learned enough, and wanted to finally make money and move out of the shared place i was living in. i also wanted to work a maximum of 4 hours per day.

crazily enough, 2 weeks after leaving the school, i had a client that paid me 2k+ per month, for 4 hours work a day. it was kind of insane, i really felt in the flow of things. i built custom ai tools that he used internally in this 7 figure business.

since then i had 2 more clients. for one of them my work consisted of building automations and coaching sessions. the other one was a big software project, where i built many components.

this agency has allowed me to work super freely, decide on my own hours and my salary, work from anywhere. website

hosting a retreat (2024)

together with a friend (who happens to be my ex-girlfriend too), we came up with the idea to host a retreat. having been to many ourselves, we knew how life changing they can be.

we planned for some months, throwing together all our favourite tools, which included, meditaton, ice baths, gestalt therapy, dance therapy, cacao ceremonies, body painting and lots of other stuff.

it was absolutely amazing. we had a chef, a musician, a yoga teacher and 8 participants. the theme was 'opening the heart', basically taking off the masks we wear and allowing ourselves to connect fully.

we had a lot of deep emotional processes, fun, good food, and connection.

maaind (2023-2024)

an ai neuroscience startup, building emotion recognition ai. our customers were porsche and other big car brands. we were a small team of less than 10 people.

i wrote my bachelor's thesis with them (on employee engagement). after that, i became the lead of marketing and mostly did content marketing and some business development.

mindtrospect (2021-2022)

i studied entrepreneurship, and to put into action what i was learning, in december 2021, i co-founded mindtrospect. both my co-founder and i were into reflection and increasing awareness. because in the netherlands magic truffles are legal (which contain psilocybin, a psychoactive compound that can increase awareness and help to shift behavioural patterns), we thought it would be cool to combine that with a reflection protocol.

in about a year, we developed an innovative reflection guide for psilocybin microdosing—a comprehensive package including a 100+ page guidebook, daily reflection questions, truffles, and a scale.

i was responsible for handling administrative tasks, representing the company at pitches, and designing everything from our website to the book cover. after a year of development, we made the difficult decision to step back due to legal hurdles and evolving personal interests. it was a valuable lesson in entrepreneurship, product development, and knowing when to pivot.

all kinds of factory, service and waiter jobs (2015-2021)

my parents raised me to be financially responsible from a young age, which meant i had to work to have some extra money.

i worked in factories from mercedes, as a waiter in cafés and snack bars, had a customer service job for some time, worked on broccoli and kiwi fields.

reflections on the journey

i sometimes feel like i didn't fully use my potential. i graduated from high school being the best of the school and under the 50 best in the region in math and physics. porsche invited me to a dinner and to study with them.

however, already 2-3 years before that, i knew i wanted to live a different life. i wanted to build something big, be free, do extraordinary things. that's why, after living in a car in new zealand for a year, i decided to study entrepreneurship.

i surely have the entrepreneur spirit in me, i love the freedom, proactiveness, and braveness it gives and takes. however, i didn't feel like i was really using my brain, it was more organizational, creative, or people skills, and i felt like i didn't use my strong analytical skills.

when i then found coding, and could even make money with that, it felt super good for a while. right now, i feel like i could still do way more, have more impact, use my gifts more to serve. let's see what life brings.

i do feel happy with my courage to start new things, to not just default to 'normal' jobs. and i did learn a lot in each role.
